Dr Arun Gupta, MBBS, FRACP, MD is a specialist gastroenterologist serving the Mornington Peninsula and the surrounding areas of Melbourne. Arun consults at The Bays in Mornington, in Burwood, and at Holmesglen Private Hospital in Moorabbin.

An expert in managing all aspects of gastroenterology, hepatology (liver problems) and pancreatico-biliary disease, Dr Gupta has a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease, eosinophilic oesophagitis and dyspepsia, as well as functional gastrointestinal disorders. He takes a holistic approach and personalises his recommendations to each patient.

Arun is passionate about quality in endoscopy and has supervised many registrars (trainee specialists) to perform endoscopy competently and safely. He performs procedures at Cabrini Malvern, Holmesglen Private Hospital, Glen Iris Private, and at The Bays in Mornington. 

Arun is a passionate gastroenterologist who is adept at sorting out clinical problems, from the most simple to the most complex. As such, he has a deep understanding of diagnosis and management of gut and liver-related conditions.

Arun was born and raised in Melbourne, completing his undergraduate medical training at the University of Melbourne in 1998, and was a resident at The Royal Melbourne Hospital in Parkville. Arun completed his specialty training at Westmead and Royal North Shore Hospitals in NSW, and at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, UK. He holds an honorary appointment as clinical research fellow at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
